Personal Background
What town (and state if not CA)did you grow up in?
I grew up in Novato, Marin County. My parish was St. Anthony of Padua.
What is your favorite book?
The Holy Bible. A spiritual book I read recently was He Leadeth Me by Fr. Walter Ciszek, SJ.
What is your favorite movie?
I enjoy movies and books with religious overtones, themes and Christian allegory such as: Wall Street, Minority Report, Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, etc.
What is your favorite sports team?
In our house, we cheer for the San Francisco teams, the Giants and 49ers.
Educational Background
What high school did you attend?
I attend pubic schools growing up, graduating from Novato High School.
What co-curricular activities were involved in?
I was heavily involved in music in high school, performing with our symphonic and jazz bands. Also I was a member of the Marin Youth Symphony Orchestra while in high school.
What college did you go to?
I attend the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. I graduated with a bachelors degree in music education.
Religious Background
Were you ever an altar boy?
I was an altar server in grade school.
Who did you talk to about your calling?
I first discussed the call of a vocation with the pastor of my college parish.
What was your parents reaction?
The reaction of my parents was positive and supportive.
What was your friends reaction?
The reaction of some of my friends was both supportive. I think others were a bit confused at first, but they have grown to support my decision as well.
Who was the priest(s) that influenced your vocation?
The priest most influential for me was Fr. Greg Ames. He was the pastor of the parish that served my university.
How familiar were you with seminary before applying?
I was not familiar at all with the seminary before applying. I wasn't even sure where a seminary was before I began to think about a vocation.
What do you like about the seminary the most?
It is a place where I have begun to become the man Christ is calling me to be.
Who is your favorite saint?
My favorite saint in Damien of Molokai.
